The Newmarket 94T1 team scored two quick goals, and rode their luck on the way to securing a 2-1 victory over the Stingers.
The Stingers had barely touched the ball before they found themselves down 2-0 to their older opponents (a somewhat recurring theme this indoor season). The Aurora team put themselves in the same predicament the last time these two teams met which ended in an identical score line. And, similarly the Stingers used the deficit as motivation to increase the intensity of their play.
Aurora managed to cut the deficit early in the second half on a brilliant long range effort from Natalie. Her shot, from a full 35 yards out, found the top corner of the goal. The Stingers continued to pile on the pressure but could not find the equalizer.
The team end their indoor league campaign this coming weekend with a game against the Aurora 94T2 team before embarking (hopefully) outdoors to begin training for the outdoor season.
