The Stingers 95G T2 lost their final game of the AISL season 3-1 to the Aurora 94T2. The team finished its indoor season with one win but was seldom overwhelmed by their opposition. The coaching staff was always of the belief that the indoor season would be used to:
Based on the above-mentioned criteria, participation in the AISL would be deemed a success as the roster has now been finalized, and other than a few lingering injuries the girls are ready for the start of the outdoor season.
As for the game versus Aurora 94T2, the Stingers started off like they were going to run their older opponents right off the field. After applying constant pressure, Caroline was able to slot home the opening goal utilizing her speed to outpace her defender. A series of near misses soon followed but the second goal never materialized.
The Stingers were made to rue their missed opportunities as the Aurora 94T2 responded with two goals in rapid succession, and fight as they may, the Stingers were unable to answer back. Aurora 94T2 went on to score a third to close out the game.
Well done girls, the experience will only serve to make you better players, and more importantly a better team.
