The Stingers dropped a 3-0 decision to the Richmond Hill Raiders this past Sunday.
The girls started off well and were unlucky not to take the early lead as Kaitlin’s shot was cleared off the line by a Raider defender. The teams continued to trade possession for the first quarter of the game but soon after the Raiders began to take control of the match and were rewarded with the opening goal.
It was becoming apparent that it wasn’t going to be the Stingers’ day. Something seemed to be missing. Maybe the game the day before had taken its toll. The Raiders continued to press and closed out the game with two more goals before the final whistle.
The girls continue to undertake an arduous preparation schedule in advance of the season opener in a few weeks, with the West Niagara tournament and numerous practices to fill out their calendar.
