Stingers Dominant in Win

In lieu of outside (adult) observations, the players will provide their unique (and somewhat rudimentary) perspective in the game reports.

Stingers 3 North York Cosmos 0

The Aurora Stingers played a very good game on Tuesday. We took home the win, 3-0 against the North York Cosmos.

In the first half, there were a lot of great balls played by everyone, and quite a few good opportunities. There was a great cross from the left side to the other side of the field by Hillary to Darcy, a nice cut to the middle and she played it to Caroline but she just couldn't get a foot on it. Minutes later Sabrina G. laid off a ball to Darcy who crossed it to Caroline for the first goal….very nice finish. Stingers are up 1-0. Soon after a ball out of the North York Cosmos box came to Natalie who was in a good position to hit it first time. It went over the goalie and into the back of the net. Half time, Stingers were up 2-0.

In the second half, we had most of the possession. The ball was mainly in their half of the field. There were so many accurate and amazing balls played in but no one could finish. Natalie played a nice ball into Sabrina G. in the middle and she crossed it to Darcy. She carried it a bit and smashed the ball into the net. Stingers 3-0, and that’s how the game ended.

We had so many opportunities and we buried a few of them.

Overall it was a much better game than last week.
