Our team’s objective is to help players compete in all facets of life, not just soccer. Competition is the struggle to be the best that you can in whatever endeavor you choose. We want to develop "soccer excellence" and help the girls find their own paths to developing the skills necessary to compete at the highest level. Utilizing soccer as a teaching tool, our team will try to help our participants be prepared to face the challenges of life beyond soccer. Traits like commitment, dedication, respect, positive attitude, teamwork, responsibility, education, sportsmanship and coping with success and failure are all part of what we attempt to foster in our soccer program.
We want to have fun, play hard, show sportsmanship, develop skills, create confidence, and have some more fun. Aurora emphasizes learning the nuances of soccer in a team environment.
Each girl comes to us with different experiences and strengths, and it is our coaching responsibility to help them refine those strong skills and focus attention on developing their weak areas.
We want players who are 100% committed to the development of their skills and the team. We are looking for girls with good attitudes, who are coachable team players, hard workers and who like to have fun. Did we mention that we want to have fun?
Successful participants will form the backbone of the team scheduled to participate in the Aurora Indoor Soccer League – one of the few 11-aside indoor leagues in Ontario – commencing in January. The team is also considering a trip to England during the March Break in 2010. Games against Arsenal and West Ham United have already been tentatively confirmed along with a reception at the Canadian Embassy in London.
